This is a rare opportunity for candidates who have an interest and want to get involved in the surveying industry, and to work for a family run property preservation practice in Cambridge. 

Hays are excited to be working in partnership with Anglia Property Preservation, a property practice based in Cambridge, specialising in damp and timber treatments and basement waterproofing of all types of residential and commercial property. 

They have an exciting portfolio to get involved with, which covers work across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Norfolk & Suffolk. All of their work is in line with the Property Care Association. Candidates who have a genuine interest in the construction industry or building and architecture, this is an ideal opportunity which will allow you to build on your career prospects within the construction & property industry. 

Due to continued growth, APP are looking for a trainee surveyor to join their team, you will shadow senior team members as they support you through your continued professional development. You will be given the necessary support, in both preparation & funding to sit examinations to obtain formal qualifications, in both CSTBD and CSSW. Additionally you will be encouraged to work towards your Chartered Membership of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. 

The purpose of your role will include undertaking site surveys and producing accurate reports on findings across the various sites you visit. You will regularly meet with clients and answer technical queries. All surveys that you undertake will be in accordance to CSTBD & CSSW procedures. 

You will also have the opportunity to programme work and assist contracts managers, which will give occasional insight into specific and skilled aspects of contracts. 

So, what is required from you in order to apply? ..
You will be educated to at least NVQ Level 3, A level, or BTEC National. You will also need a full UK driving license, and be prepared to sit your CSTBD and CSSW examinations. As you will deal with customers on a regular basis, it is important that you have previous experience of dealing with external customers, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team. Candidates who have experience working in a specialist construction environment, including experience of estimating and cost calculations will be strongly considered for this opportunity. 

In return Anglia Property Preservation are offering a starting salary of £20,000 – £30,000 depending on the level of your experience. You will also receive 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, annual mileage allowance, paid CPD support and a government pension. Once qualified, you will also be entitled to a company mobile phone and potential for profit share as a percentage.
