Conrad Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of the region's leading construction companies based on the outskirts of Chelmsford.
This established company has gone from strength to strength since being founded and has grown to having a very established work force with further plans for growth in place. Due to their continued success and rapidly expanding business they are now seeking to employ a Quantity Surveyor to join their Residential and Commercial team.
The client is looking for a candidate with previous experience working within residential and commercial sectors and ideally has at least 3 years working as a Quantity Surveyor.
·Assist with production of development cost plans and assist with compilation of detailed risk identification and cost planning
·Agree sub contract documentation.
·All sub-contract procurement - the development of trade scope of works, tender issue and analysis in conjunction with Production team, ongoing contract management of costs to final account
·Ensuring health & safety documentation is received and challenged and approved
·Assisting with establishing design and specification decisions requirements and ensuring cost implications and allowances are factored and properly considered
·Liaising with customer care manager to facilitate the subcontract requirement to cover the defects liability period through to payment of the final retention release
·Attendance at monthly Project Team Meetings on active sites. Providing commercial reports and updates as necessary to ensure progress and management of project is being maintained
·Prelims - ongoing management of the current cost against the original budget, providing monthly updates of the forecast cost to complete
·Valuation of subcontract accounts and processing payments through to agreeing the final account.
·Liaising with in house contractor to management, cost control of Groundwork's, Civils and Concrete Frame works.
·Liaising with buyers to manage material cost
·Liaising with Technical department to control and forecast technical and services fee budgets from budget
·Monthly Cost and Margin Reporting reviewing current cost against original budget
·Providing cost details for value management analysis
·At least 3 years' experience working in a Quantity Surveyor role.
·Ideally experience working in Residential, Commercial, groundwork's or Frames sectors
·Ambitious & driven
·Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
